WEEK LONG AT STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR!
If you ask any Deacon, they can all tell you that Brother Gathercoal, Brother Hamblin, and Brother Argyle set up the perfect weeklong. The food was cooked perfectly, the activities were planned flawlessly, and everyone had a great time.
Monday
Monday was the day we left on the best campout. Of course, there are some boring parts at any camp, and waiting in the parking lot was one of those moments.
Finally, after waiting for the bags to be packed, we left. Everyone got into a car.
One thing Chase, Basham and I learned is that Jacobias doesn't like One Direction (He calls it One Infection).
A little after we got into Provo Canyon, we stopped at a lone parking lot. We got out of the car and, of course, goofed off.
We even found a pine tree that was soft!
Levi couldn't go without his trusty trumpet and gave us a preview of it's noise in the parking lot.
So we get back in the car and drive the rest of the way to camp.
We finally got to the campsite and ate our delicious lunches.
Yum
Yummy!
Tasty!
Delicious!
We then sat around camp.
Our Deacon's quorum has 20 boys. How is that not cray cray? We split into 2 patrols. One patrol is called the Mad Hatters and the other is called Venom. We had to decide what our patrol name was and make a chant.
Mad Hatters:
Venom:

We then had to make a troop flag. Of course, it was a heated competition.
Then Bishop Caldwell came up to our camp and gave a devotional.
Then, of course, none of the Deacons slept very well. In the morning we went on a 10 mile hike (according to the Deacons it was a 15 mile hike) up Poison Ridge. The hike was supposed to be on a nice, level hike, but we accidently went up Poison Ridge on a 1,000 foot incline. Fun, said no Deacon ever.
We then went 3 miles up the hill and then Brother Coxson decided this was too steep and he was worried everyone would make it up the mountain. We turned back and decided to hike to the lake for the other 4 miles of the hike.
We then took a rest at camp.
Then we went down to the lake.
We are as the armies of Gathercoal!
We finally got to the lake!
We then went back to camp. We ate dinner and lunch.
Some of us went down to the lake again to go fishing or just play in the lake.
While we were at the lake we realized we were in an aftershock of an Earthquake!!!
The scouts that went to the lake in Brother Coxson's car were all squished in the tiny white car.
Fisher caught a crawfish and was holding it out the window.
Some Deacons even caught some fish over with Brother Pilati's group.
The next morning, some of the scouts cooked breakfast.
We then did a flag ceremony.
Then we played capture the flag with the troop flags. We played on the road away from the campsite. You had to capture the other team flag. Nobody won. We called a quit game.
After that we worked on merit badges. The people who didn't have Emergency Preparedness did that with Brother Hamblin. The scouts who already had it either did the Leather Working Merit Badge or made some paracord bracelets.
